Licensed Armed Protection
Armed Security Guards in NYC & Long Island
7SECURE provides armed security guards for NYC and Long Island organizations when qualifying sites need a consequence-based protection plan. An armed post should never be the product of anxiety alone. It is a risk decision based on what could happen, what is at stake and whether the presence of a firearm meaningfully improves the protection plan. 7SECURE evaluates that decision with the candor a client should expect from a licensed Watch, Guard and Patrol Agency.
Our officers protect qualifying sites throughout New York City, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester, backed by written procedures and a 24/7 operations center.
Risk Assessment
When to Hire Armed Security Guards
The relevant question is consequence, not fear. Armed coverage may be appropriate where a site holds high-value or controlled inventory, regularly handles cash, faces a credible targeted threat or operates in a setting where police response times may be long. The decision also considers public access, hours of operation, nearby activity and the practical ability to control entry.
Armed coverage is not right for every property. A visible firearm can change the atmosphere of a lobby, school or healthcare setting and may introduce risks that other controls avoid. During an assessment, 7SECURE will recommend unarmed coverage, stronger access procedures or a different posture when those measures fit the exposure better. Saying “armed” only when the facts support it is part of responsible security counsel.
New York Standards
Armed Security Guard Licensing in New York
New York treats armed security work differently from unarmed service. An armed officer must satisfy the baseline security guard registration requirements and also hold a valid New York State pistol license, complete the state-mandated firearms training course and maintain annual in-service requalification.
Those credentials establish legal eligibility; they do not by themselves establish suitability for a particular post. Site restrictions, assignment duties and client protocols still matter. 7SECURE reviews the role before deployment so the officer’s authority, equipment and responsibilities are understood rather than assumed.
Selection & Training
How We Select Armed Security Officers
7SECURE draws armed officers from active and retired law enforcement and military backgrounds. Relevant experience matters, but the central hiring question is not simply whether a candidate can carry or qualify. It is whether that person can recognize developing behavior, communicate under pressure and avoid turning uncertainty into confrontation.
Our in-house SEVEN-ON-GUARD curriculum reinforces situational awareness, behavior recognition, tactical communication, active-shooter response, de-escalation and CPR/AED. The goal is disciplined decision-making: observing without provoking, setting clear boundaries and understanding when restraint is the safest course. Organizations seeking a lower-profile posture may also consider our lobby security or executive protection services.
24/7 Armed Guard Supervision
Who Is Checking at 3 A.M.?
The real client concern is rarely whether an officer is permitted to carry. It is whether anyone is checking that officer during the quietest part of the night. 7SECURE supports armed posts through its 24/7 operations center, assignment-specific post orders and documented reporting expectations.
Our Integrity Control Unit adds another layer by performing covert integrity testing of the firm’s own officers. Unannounced observation can reveal whether an officer remains attentive, follows access rules, communicates professionally and records activity accurately when supervision is not visible. That accountability turns a licensed individual into part of a managed security program.
